Powerwalk is a speculative infrastructure project that treats renewable energy as both public art and civic utility. Composed of modular units incorporating configurable solar glass panels, the project generates energy while structuring pedestrian and bicycle movement across a former military airbase. Rather than infilling the site with buildings, the design preserves the open landscape and overlays a network of paths that reconnect fragmented districts of Mannheim. The project frames renewable infrastructure as a spatial and social catalyst, aligning energy production with public access and long-term sustainability goals.
